TIGI Global Academy Technical Director, Warren Boodaghians, takes inspiration from the Science Fiction genre of the 1960s and ’80s to develop his collection, Futurism. With references to Star Trek and Blade Runner, Warren works with striking colours to enhance and add strength to the haircuts.

“Today, colour often leads the look and I wanted to ensure that in this collection the colours I created had power, bringing the future into the now,” says Warren. “I worked closely with Gen Itoh and Maria Kovacs to complete the overall looks, but the absolute statement is about colour shaping the style, in both an individual and a powerful way.  The colours are strong and often bright but in today’s world the unnatural has become natural and, increasingly, we are seeing clients who are willing to take a risk and make their own individual futuristic, super-powered statement. This is a collection for risk-takers. The true hero of Futurism is the woman herself. She is the hero of her own story, demonstrated by her own inner strength”.

"When creating my collection, it was really important that each girl had her own individual super power identity and story."
