Red carpet glamour is back! Here’s our favourite hairstyles from the Academy Awards.

The 93rd Academy Awards took place on Sunday night with less ceremony than usual but, even with current restrictions, managed to create the glamour and style-stealing moments we always associate with the Oscars.

Here at TIGI Fuse, we’re sharing a round-up of our favourite hairstyles from the Oscars red carpet. And the winners are…

The Best Hair goes to…

Most stunning award goes to Zendaya, whose beautiful super long waves, created by Larry Sims, wafted on the red carpet, made all the more stand-out by her custom Valentino buttercup yellow dress. Create the look with Bed Head Queen For A Day and Salty Not Sorry for beautiful waves.

Also embracing stunning long hair was H.E.R, this time against purple, for a definite show-stopping look. Recreate this style with Bed Head Back It Up, applied to wet hair, and finish with Headrush for super shine.

Supporting Hair Style Award goes to…

We also loved Viola Davis in an easy to copy up-do, created by hairstylist Jamika Wilson who won an Oscar for her work with Davis on Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Try Bed Head Curls Rock Amplifier to achieve this look on your clients.

Andra Day’s hair also looked stunning swept up with a tumbling curly fringe. Get the look with TIGI Copyright Firm Hold Curl Cream and Colour Lustre Oil.

Borat actress, Maria Bakalava, made a statement with classic glamour. Her blonde locks were tied back into a low chignon, with a side sweeping fringe, enhancing her hair’s natural movement. Create her glamourous style with TIGI Copyright Volume Lift Styling Spray, Multi Tasking Styling Foam and lock with Maximum Hold Hairspray.

And Vanessa Kirby updated the classic chignon with a modern, matte finish. Recreate this look with Bed Head Gimme Grip Shampoo & Conditioner to add grip and texture, Queen For a Day and Small Talk in wet hair to prep hair for styling, Dirty Secret dry shampoo to add a matte texture, and lock the look with Hard Head hairspray for a style that stays all night!

Nominees for Striking Hair…

But it has to be said, although there were some striking gowns and beautiful looks, in general the hair was kept simple with lots of defined middle or side partings, and classic slicked back chignons or sharp bobs as seen on Regina King and Halle Berry.

For classic runway-worthy chignons, like Amanda Seyfried, prep hair with TIGI Copyright Multi Tasking Styling Cream then Volume Finishing Spray for a natural-looking hold. Or, for added shine like Carey Mulligan, apply Bed Head Masterpiece hairspray for a glossy finish.

And the Award for Keeping it Natural goes to…

If you love a natural look then Margot Robbie’s loosely tied back style is faultless. Try this simple look on your clients, using Bed Head Queen For a Day and Salty Not Sorry to give hair texture, tie back then spritz with Headrush for a dose of shine.

Lastly, Chloe Zhao’s braids were winners for a touch of undone elegance. Add TIGI Copyright Split End Repair Cream to smooth the ends, and Revitalising Dry Shampoo to add grip to the braids and a matte finish.
