EFFORTLESSLY COOL FRENCH SALON DESIGN
Salon-owner and TIGI Educator, Florian Henry, invites us into his unique French hair salon, Onze.
TIGI Fuse is excited to meet and get to know salons across the globe. Here we introduce to you, Florian Henry of Onze, a busy salon owner who is also part of the French TIGI Education Team. He shares details of his salon design, client services, and his role with TIGI.
FLORIAN, YOU’VE BEEN WORKING WITH TIGI FOR SOME TIME. HOW DO YOU WORK WITH THE BRAND?
Florian: Since my salon, Onze, opened, I’ve been regularly working with TIGI, while also using and retailing the products in the salon. I’ve always seen TIGI as an inspiration source for both the hair cuts and colours my team and I create. As a TIGI France Creative Director, I regularly participate in educational events in France and across Europe, representing TIGI for a variety of projects from events, seminars and shows, and backstage at fashion weeks.
TELL US ABOUT ONZE SALON
Florian: Onze Hair Salon is situated in Nancy, a city in the North-East of France. Unusually, the salon is located in a first floor flat in the centre of the city. Nancy is a city that has undergone many changes in the last couple of years, with new and different shops opening that has brought potential clients to the area.
HOW BIG IS THE SALON?
Florian: The salon is 100 cubic metres with eight workstations and a strong, full-time team of hairdressers.
YOU’VE GOT A BEAUTIFUL SALON; HOW DID YOU DECIDE ON THE LOOK AND FEEL?
Florian: The hair salon is always changing. We like decoration and we keep the place up to date by regularly adding different and new objects that follow our unique Onze estheticism. It has a cosy atmosphere that is both a practical workplace for me and my team, and inviting to our clients.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CLIENT SERVICE
Florian: Service excellence is a priority to us here at Onze. We ensure our clients are treated in the utmost comfort so they enjoy the experience. We offer over 30 types of tea, local soda, and even beers in the barber area. We provide Shiatsu head massage on demand to complete our shampoo massage chair. We also hold some private events such as weddings, bachelor parties, gigs, and photo shoots.
HOW DO YOU RUN YOUR TEAM’S EDUCATION?
Florian: The staff has a monthly training plan, with different team members leading the training every week.
WE KNOW YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY; HOW OFTEN DO YOU WORK ON SHOOTS?
Florian: We organise a photo shoot every two months. We also worked on the ‘Back to Basics’ Collection for over a year. We tend to work in an urban and natural spirit, to focus on the haircut line and texturising.
HOW DO YOU PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS?
Florian: We work with a communication manager for all press and social media, and ensure we post everyday, either pictures from a photo shoot or daily haircuts and stories of events and our salon.
