Director of Scots Hair Design, Jennifer Low, not only has a passion for creating the best hair for her clients, she is also passionate about fashion and photography.
With her new collection for 2019: UNITY, Jennifer wanted to echo the heritage of the Scots Hair Design brand. The new collection was created to show strength and diversity, mixing movement, texture and curl.
Just as Scottish tartans show boldness in their design and format, so the hairstyles created by Jennifer and her team are bold, created to inspire the wearer’s confidence. These are styles to be worn with pride. The Unity Collection is loud and proud, and is all about creatively uniting the Scots Hair Design team together.
Hannah’s hair was cropped short using a scissor over comb technique. Inspired by Pantone of the Year, Living Coral, a soft tone was applied, helping to enhance the strong cut. To style the look, the team dried Bed Head Motor Mouth into the hair and finished the look with Bed Head for Men Matte Separation Wax to add texture.
To enhance Ellen’s natural hair colour, the Scots team first cleansed the hair with Catwalk by TIGI Fashionista Brunette shampoo and conditioner, leaving the shampoo in the hair for 10 minutes to give added depth. Then TIGI Copyright Heat Protection Spray was spritzed throughout for 100% heat protection. Catwalk by TIGI Salt Spray, Root Boost and Work It Hairspray were then applied section by section, and some wefts were added for additional length. The hair was then crimped and, once cool, was brushed out to create volume. For an added festival vibe, sections were pinned off the face.
To create a rich colour and emphasise the natural tones in Jemma’s hair, a deep copper tone was applied before cleansing and conditioning the hair with TIGI Copyright Repair Shampoo and Conditioner. The hair was then prepped with TIGI Copyright Lustre Oil and Volume Lift Styling Spray. The hair was then blow-dried to give fullness and volume. To create additional texture, the team used straightening irons and a curling wand, alternating the direction of the curl with each section. To finish the look, Bed Head Oh Beehive was sprayed throughout the hair to give a fuller finish, and Bed Head Joyride was used to separate the curls.
