As well as leading TIGI’s colour portfolio and creative direction in her role as Global Creative Technical Director, Christel Lundqvist is also the owner of the award-winning salon, STIL.
Nestled in the heart of London’s Notting Hill, STIL opened its doors in 2016. Two years on, its beautiful Scandi-chic interiors, outstanding customer service, and team of talented, welcoming staff led to STIL winning Best Salon Experience at this year’s Creative Head Awards. We speak with Christel on how she achieved this success and why she believes customisation is key.
Being recognised for our salon experience is such a fantastic honour. As a team, we aim to offer a wealth of knowledge and expertise, combined with our unique, personal approach to delivering an exclusive experience for every one of our clients.
Taking inspiration from the worlds of fashion and design, all of my team are trained in the ‘STIL way’ of colour, cutting and styling. For us, providing a holistic, bespoke service for every client is the most important part of creating a great salon experience.
We have a bespoke colour menu designed with our clients in mind and we take every one through our 3-step STIL Service Programme which includes Personalisation, Service & Aftercare, and our Client Loyalty Programme. The STIL service plan has been created to support and look after the client at every touch point.
Personalisation: Based on the TIGI Creative Consultation concept, we look at fashion and style with our clients, and talk through trends that will work in harmony with their overall desired colour. At STIL, there’s no rule to fashion or age so we work with our client’s personal image to create a bespoke look to suit their individual style.
Service & Aftercare: Our aim is to provide a calming and rejuvenating experience for every client, as well as great hair! We have a trained massage therapist on site and deliver complimentary aromatherapy head massages with all of our services. At the end of their visit, we offer every client customised take-home treatments to maintain their look at home. We always want them to look their best and for their look to last.
Client Loyalty Programme: Providing a loyalty service for our regular clients is a hugely important aspect of what we do and offer. Our scheme includes discounts on our retail products, redeemable points for discounts, and invitations to bespoke STIL events. They are part of the STIL family – this is so important to us and is why our clients come back!
What we have created is something very unique. Every single element of the client journey has been thought through and we pay attention to every detail. Clients leave with great hair and beautiful colour, but they also leave feeling relaxed and energised, pampered and well looked after.
